We promise those of you who play rummy card games online, won’t find much difficulty getting a grip on this one.
Rummy 500 is an amusing version of the rummy card game. Points are to be scored by “melding,” that is, by laying down certain combinations of cards to score a win. 500 rummy is played over several rounds, and the game finishes when a player scores 500 points. According to rummy 500 rules, the first player to reach this total points wins.
You can play 500 Rummy online with a minimum of 2 and maximum of 8 players using a standard deck of 52 cards. For players more than 6, two decks are advised. We say you take your time to learn the game, start slow and you can soon become a professional 500 rummy card game player.
These 500 rummy rules are the same when you play 500 rummy online. The objective of 500 Rummy is simple; to get rid of all the cards in your hand as soon as possible. Also called Persian Rummy, this famous version of Rummy card game employs more playing cards per player and permits more players unlike the regular variants. It’s a thrilling race to see who can reach 500 points first. This unique provision of this variant makes it a favorite among families who like to pick up playing cards in festive seasons.
While the basic gameplay is just like Rummy, the scoring of Rummy 500 is done differently. Rummy 500’s rules are similar to Indian Rummy, one of them being that Jokers also act as wildcards in this game.
To play Rummy 500, you will need basic card-playing stuff. You may even need multiple players (including yourself). Gather your friends and a standard deck of playing cards (with Jokers), a pen or pencil, and a few pieces of paper to keep count. Conversely, when you play Rummy 500 online, you need nothing except a running internet connection.
In the 500 Rummy card game, “Shuffling” is simply an elegant way of “mixing up the playing cards.” The best shuffling technique is called the “riffle shuffle,” but you may go for any technique that works for you. Try the “riffle shuffle” by dividing the cards in two parts, “riffling” the two halves together, and one half in each hand.
Start by deciding on one player to be the dealer for the first round. The individual to the left of the dealer, will start the game. The dealer will deal the playing cards by setting one card face down in front of each player, progressing clockwise till a specific number of playing cards are dealt to every individual.
The dealer usually deals the cards to themselves in the end. In a game with three or more players, every player will receive seven cards, while thirteen cards each are dealt in a two-player game. When you play Rummy 500 online, the job of the dealer is automated, so the need to shuffle and deal is taken care of by the app software.
The remaining playing cards can be positioned in a pile in the middle of the table. Players are required to draw cards from the stock-pile at the start of every turn. This is also often referred to as a “draw pile.” Again, when you play Rummy 500 online, the stockpiling is automated. All you need to do is play!
1. The objective of Rummy 500 is to make sets of three or more playing cards in their current hand. These hands can be suits made by combining 3 or 4 cards of the same value (4s4d4c4h) or/and sequences of 3 or more playing cards in an identical suit (for example the 4, 5, and 6 of spades). The round is completed when one player makes use of all of their playing cards, or the stock-pile runs out. All points are then tallied. These groups of 3 or more playing cards are called “melds.”
Additionally, players can lay down 1-2 playing cards that match with current melds of your opponents. (For example, if a player has a meld of 3 Aces, the opponent can lay down the fourth Ace in his meld and reduce his own cards.
2. Whenever cards are laid down in those patterns, they are counted to reach a score. To win in a 500 rummy game, one player needs to attain 500 points across all rounds of play.
Card values are counted as follows:
All face cards (K,Q,J)are equal to 10 points. Aces and Jokers are worth 15 points. All other playing cards are worth their face value (e.g. the 6 of hearts is counted as 6 points.) The only exception to 500 Rummy rules is that when you pair an Ace with a 2 and 3, it will carry 1 point instead of 15.
3. When one player makes use of all of their playing cards, the round ends and points are tallied. Players who have not been able to get rid of all their cards by using them in sets or sequences, add the value of those cards and subtract it from their score for that round. Alternatively, if the stock-pile runs out of cards, the round ends and players don't need to subtract the value of the remaining cards.
When you play rummy 500 online, the headache of scoring too is done by the rummy apps. That’s a big advantage online rummy card games always have over traditional card-playing.
After a player picks up a card in a 500 Rummy card game, they could lay down any melds from their hand. This means if there is a set of 3s in the meld on the table, whether your own or your opponent’s, and you just drew a 4th card ranked number 3, you can place it on the meld and reduce your own cards.
The same can be done in a sequence meld in 500 rummy card games. If there's already a meld of 5h6h7h, you can lay a 4h or 8h to the existing meld. Neat, isn’t it?
Each player’s turn ends once they are a card down at the discard pile. All melds should be completed before this is done. Once a discard is placed, the game proceeds to the next player. A discard can't be taken back.
Don’t stop until one player reaches 500 points. Reaching 500 points is integral to when you play Rummy 500 online or the conventional way. The scores are tallied and written down after every round. Continue playing all rounds in this style until one player reaches 500.
When playing against a computer, it’s hard to predict the moves. That takes away the power to win, but, it’s fun anyway. When you play Rummy 500 card games online, the perks surpass the cons. You do not have to worry about shuffling, dealing or even keeping scores at all. It is much easier to focus on your game when you play a 500 rummy online game.
